Actor and musician John Stamos' close friend Jeffrey Foskett is undergoing treatment for anaplastic thyroid cancer at MD Anderson. Stamos shares his gratitude for the exceptional care Foskett has received since starting treatment at MD Anderson in 2019.
Foskett — a singer, songwriter and record producer who worked for decades as a touring and studio musician for The Beach Boys — began his care at MD Anderson after previous thyroid cancer treatment side effects ended his singing career.
After 25 years on dialysis, Sherman learned he would need a lifesaving kidney transplant. He waited an entire year to finally receive the call that he was matched.
"On January 2nd at two in the morning, they called and said come to the hospital," says Sherman. There, the team at Memorial Hermann and @McGovernMed were able to successfully perform the kidney transplant.
When Lorena Junco De La Vega came to MD Anderson following an adrenal gland tumor diagnosis, she found comfort in the expertise of endocrine tumor surgeon Dr. Nancy Perrier, who performed a partial adrenalectomy. This is a very delicate procedure in which only part of the remaining adrenal gland (the part with the tumor on it) is removed, and only a handful of experts around the world are able to perform this complex surgery.
